If you are a solo traveller, the New York Times has a list for you.
The New York Times featured an article recently highlighting the very best place for a solo traveller to visit. On the list are two European destinations. The first is the country of Iceland and the second is the city of Dublin.
They say “In about the same time it takes to fly from New York to Los Angeles, you could be tipping a Guinness in Ireland instead. Dublin is perfect for first-time solo travelers.”
This is the list they have compiled:
Riviera Maya, Mexico
Vancouver, British Colombia
They also suggest that an African Safari or a trip to the Inca Trail in Peru are more difficult to do on your own. There are companies that cater for such trips and guided tours aimed at the 18 to 29 year old market are their market. Most of the guests are solo travellers and are commonly paired up with same sex room mates. A single room can be obtained but obviously there would be a supplement.
